Maritime Festival – Paid-to-Act Performances and Free Workshops

Deadline: July 11

2019 Richmond Maritime & Wooden Boat Festival
Emerging Performers Workshops (FREE!) & Festival Performances (PAID!)

We invite emerging performers (ages 15+) to participate in free workshops with professional teacher and performer, Danielle Girard. You will get a chance to develop an engaging presence as a roving site performer, interacting with festival-goers of all ages. The workshops focus on various roles.

Roaming performers in larger than life costumes that roam in duos and trios as well as character development within the historic Maritime theme. For those of you interested in the larger than life site roaming performers, we have various costumes already created that you will get to see, try on and experiment with to expand your interactive character skills.

For those interested in the historic character building, we ask that you come up with a character of your own that lives within the theme of the festival. These character stories will be developed with the artist and the workshop facilitator.

Successful workshop participants will be hired to perform at the 2019 Richmond Maritime Festival. The performance opportunities at the festival are paid positions.
