27th Annual Street Banner Contest
Once again, the City of Richmond is inviting artists of all ages and abilities to show their talents and submit entries to the annual Street Banner Contest. The contest, now in its 27th year, is looking for creative, visually-appealing art that celebrates Richmond’s diversity, landscapes, activities and unique experiences. Submissions must reflect one of the following Richmond themes: Island City, The Arts, Culture, City Centre, Heritage, Community, Active Living, Sustainability and Nature. Designs will be chosen that represent each theme and be installed throughout Richmond’s downtown core, along walking paths and on main gateways leading in and out of the city. The banners will be displayed for one year beginning in February 2020. Contest winners will receive a $300 honorarium along with a full-sized banner featuring their winning submission.
