Announcing #WildAuction2020 for the Great Bear Rainforest:
Pacific Wild Alliance, a conservation organization focused on the Great Bear Rainforest, and key wildlife protections in British Columbia invites artists to submit works to our upcoming art auction this November, #WildAuction2020.
We recognize that the arts is a major contributor to the protection of our beautiful province and that artists have unique voices that can elevate conservation issues into the mainstream and galvanize the public to demand change. Your contribution to the work of conservation in B.C. is critical.
At Pacific Wild, we also believe that artists should not be asked to donate pieces in entirety, and that it should be a joint project between our not-for-profit and artists who are financially recognized for their expertise and skills. Artists are able to select the split they wish to work under and tax receipts are provided to Canadian and US based artists after the donation is received.
Last year – our first year – 50 artists joined us and this year we would love to multiply that number and provide our donors, supporters and social media followers with a greater range of work. This way they can not only support our conservation campaigns, but artists who are committed to conservation as well. Subject matter should be related to the Great Bear Rainforest, salmon, wolves, bears, herring and coastal marine conservation, and abstracts are welcome if they fit the theme. The auction is preceded by ‘Wild Auction Week’ where artists take over the @friendsofpacificwild Instagram account in half day blocks to share their art practice and their own conservation goals.
