The 18th Annual Richmond Maritime Festival returns to Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site this month in a two-day event featuring wooden boats, music and storytelling. The stunning, natural and nautical splendour of the oldest shipyard in British Columbia will come to life with festive, maritime-themed décor, spontaneous performances and ingenious exhibits. Landlubbers and nautical buffs alike will find this free family event awash with fun. Visitors will continually find new surprises as they wander through the 8 acre national historic site on the Steveston waterfront, either in person or through an online interactive map. As they tour many of the historic buildings, several of which have been restored to reflect their original roles in the West Coast fishing industry, visitors will be entertained by music, roving performers, wood carvers, model boat builders, puppets, storytellers, drummers and much more.

The City of Richmond is fully committed to operating safely and working to ensure all Provincial Health Orders and recommendations are followed. Please stay home if you are sick, respect personal space while at the Festival and bring your mask as it will be required inside the buildings.
