$5.00 Registration Fee – Limited to 12 participants. Use natural materials to create a mask inspired by the artwork of Nicole Dextras, to be featured at the Richmond World Festival! This year’s Your Kontinent Digital Carnival at the Richmond World Festival features the work of artist Nicole Dextras. In Dextras’ upcoming exhibition, The Dystopian Museum, she will feature Persephone, a mythological character that wears a mask to protect her against the toxic smoke caused by wildfires. In this workshop, artists Nicole Dextras and Emily Smith invite you to make your own Persephone-inspired mask from natural and repurposed materials, and capture your creation in the form of an animated GIF. Final digital projects will be shared during Dextras’ exhibition at the Your Kontinent Digital Carnival on August 30th and 31st at the Richmond Arts Centre as part of the Richmond World Festival.
