Public Art Unveiling – RAG Youth Art Intensive program (Culture Days)
Minoru Park
7191 Granville Avenue
3pm-4pm
Visit the ponds in Minoru Park for the unveiling of a new public art installation created by 9 Richmond youth as part of the Richmond Art Gallery’s Summer Youth Art Intensive program. Students worked with lead artist instructor Emily Neufeld, guest artists Holly Schmidt and Laara Cerman, and herbalist Lori Snyder over the course of 3 weeks this summer to work on various art projects that explored their local natural environment. The culmination of their art experiences was for each student to create a panoramic image of a Richmond landscape that was made into a stand-alone lantern. All 9 lanterns are to be installed in the ponds at Minoru Park, and will be on display until October 25, 2020, as part of Culture Days celebrations.
