Gary Point will host a series of three consecutive workshops on Sundays beginning March 31st to demonstrate traditional Musqueam weaving techniques. In the first workshop, participants will be shown traditional examples and types of weavings, including the types of wool used, how it is selected and prepared for use on the loom. In the second workshop, participants will be shown traditional types of weaving techniques and will take turns weaving on a single loom. Participants will be working collectively on a single textile piece. In the third workshop, participants will continue to practice skills and techniques learned in the second workshop and continue to work on the collective textile piece.
