SUMMARY:Secret Ingredients
DESCRIPTION:October 14 – October 17\nSecret Ingredients\nGateway Theatre\n6500 Gilbert Road\nPerformed for a live audience in Studio B. Created by Richmond-based artist Keely Rois O’Brien\, Secret Ingredients is a playful experimental theatre performance that uses cake to explore the quirks\, nuances\, joy\, and heartache of human relationships. Leading up to the performance\, the public is invited to consider messages that they find too difficult to express directly to someone in their life\, and submit them via an online form. One of these submissions will be translated into a beautiful\, subversive cake that will be delivered and incorporated into the performance. Flavours are intricately paired with the message: the dark chocolate of embarrassment\, the citrus zest of annoyance\, the tart cherry jam of grief. With each cake delivery\, a new story\, a new emotion\, and a new flavour emerge.\nWebsite: gatewaytheatre.com/events/secret-ingredients\nTrailer Video: youtube.com/watch?v=OZajvJdM1P8&t=58s

SUMMARY:Exhibition: Lam Tung Pang - Out of This World
DESCRIPTION:October 24 – January 3\nExhibition: Lam Tung Pang – Out of This World\nRichmond Art Gallery\n7700 Minoru Gate\nFor his first solo exhibition in Canada\, Lam Tung Pang presents a multifaceted body of work that spans the three-and-a-half years since his move from Hong Kong to Richmond. Since relocating\, Lam has been developing a new visual vernacular that reflects the deconstruction and reconstruction of his own sense of self. Rooted in the intimate realities of leaving home and beginning again\, his work speaks to the broader human experience of migration and belonging across today’s shifting global landscape. With a practice that has spanned Hong Kong\, London\, Beijing\, and Vancouver\, Lam is part of a global movement of artists navigating transnational lives.\nWebsite: richmondartgallery.org/out-of-this-world
