Joe Peschisolido is the Member of Parliament for Steveston – Richmond East. He serves as the Vice-Chair on the Canada-China Legislative Association, the Canada-Taiwan InterParliamentary Group, the Canada-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group, and the Canadian Section of ParlAmerican. He is also a member of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food and the director of Canada-Korea InterParliamentary Group.
He is the former Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs at the Canadian head office for Bing Han Enterprises – a multi-national company headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan – and the founder of his own business and immigration law firm, Peschisolido & Company, where he specialized in corporate, commercial, real estate, and immigration law.
First elected as Member of Parliament for Richmond in the 2000 general election, Joe served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and to the President of the Privy Council. He also served as Vice-Chair for the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities, and was a member of the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans; Citizenship and Immigration; and Finance.
A philanthropist and legal volunteer in both the Richmond and Steveston communities, Joe is actively involved in several environmental, animal, and civil rights causes. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto and his Law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. Joe is fluent in English, French, and Italian.
