Richmond Community Foundation

Founded in 1990, the Richmond Community Foundation manages nearly 50 forever funds, together valued at $4.4 million. These funds, established by community organizations, businesses, families, and individuals, continue growing over time. Indeed, as their name implies, they last forever.

As the funds earn investment income, a portion is distributed back into the community, as grants to local non-profit organizations and scholarships to Richmond students. To date, the Community Foundation has awarded nearly $1 million in grants and scholarships, including $118,000 in 2016.

The Community Foundation supports initiatives in a broad range of fields: education, sports and fitness, arts and culture, social services, and the environment, just to name a few. Through the Richmond Youth Foundation, meanwhile, it supports projects that are either led by, or benefit, Richmond youth.

You, in turn, can support the Community Foundation. If there’s a cause you care about, there’s a forever fund to match, and you can help it grow by making a donation. You’ll be issued a tax receipt, and your donation will keep having an impact – today, tomorrow, forever.
