My art background is varied, as I’ve explored different avenues of art expression in my adventures in lifelong learning. I have created art via printmaking, with silk screening, monoprints, and monotypes; painting with acrylics, inks, gouache and watercolours on paper and canvas; fabric and jewelry design; and handcrafted art cards using origami, iris fold and pop-up techniques. I am an exhibiting member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (www.artists.ca) and have participated in group exhibitions at Van Dusen (Vancouver); Hycroft University Women’s Club (Vancouver); and Queen’s Park (New Westminster). My work was curated through Richmond Art Galllery for a solo exhibition at Richmond City Hall, and selected works have been published in various editions of the Multifaith Calendars from 2015-2024. My Facebook page, Marjorie Young Art Innovations @marjorie.young.art.innovations , has some samples of recent hand crafted art cards. My other Facebook page is @marjorie.young.967 .

I have taught watermedia classes for seniors at Kerrisdale and Marpole Community Centres (Vancouver). Since the COVID closures, in-person classes have been cancelled, and I participated in online classes and demonstrations with the Brain Wellness Creative Collective at UBC, and was feature artist for the month of November 2023.
