Urban Abstract
Artist Statement:
I grew up in Toronto, Ontario. I have lived in all the major Canadian cities including Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver. I received most of my foundation art training from completing a Bachelor of Fine Art degree at Concordia University. My artistic expression started in my childhood from the sights and sounds I observe, recorded and mimicked in sketches.
In my paintings, I explore colour relationships in an urban abstract context. In my drawings, I like minuscule “idea-boards” with rhyme and patterns in complete abstraction. Sometimes they reference figurative landscape other times, mere impulse. Most often, I aim to relieve the white space with something that unveils thoughts everyone has; while flexing and muddling them all together.
