Identity, Emotion, Human Connection
Painting is an important part of my life. Through art, I express thoughts and emotions that are difficult to explain with words. I work mainly in abstract mixed media and use strong colors, texture, and layers to reflect how I experience the world through my autistic perspective. Creating art brings me peace, clarity, and connection.
I mostly work with acrylic paint because it allows me to move quickly and freely. My paintings often begin with small ideas, emotions, or memories that slowly build into layered compositions. I enjoy experimenting with color and texture to create works that feel emotional, energetic, and open to interpretation. Through my art, I invite viewers to experience the world from my point of view.
I was born in the Philippines and moved to Canada in 2006. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2010. Since then, I have exhibited in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and the Philippines. My most recent exhibit, Return and Remember, was held from November 2025 to January 2026 at the Conrad Manila. One of the highlights of my career was having one of my paintings selected as a United Nations stamp in 2012. I continue to create art that explores identity, emotion, and human connection.
