Cherishing the Process
Artist Statement
I am a potter with a background of education in Hong Kong and my further study in Canada , so my works are highly influenced by eastern and western cultures and ideologies.
I cherish the process of making ceramics because it allows me to be part designer, part chemist, part technician, and above all an artist. Creating ceramic art is an extraordinary process that mixes technical with creative knowledge. More importantly, it challenges me to remain open to new ideas and possibilities.
I always like to explore the relationship between form and context in ceramics. My designs aim to bridge the gap between art and function. Opportunities to create decorative and functional works of art bring joy and delight to my life.
