Transforming Spaces
Artist Statement:
My work is process oriented and includes painting, printmaking, forms of photography and use of found materials. I am an athlete and artist, my creativity and love of movement shows up in both activities. I often use traditional Japanese techniques and materials, then further develop my hand to express my life’s discoveries within broad themes of environment, humanity and self. My favourite works are creating large scale environments disguising found materials as nature, designing installations that transform spaces. I enjoy inviting others to participate in works that become collaborative. Viewers are invited to be attentive, to notice, reflect, contribute. May the experience to be insightful and meaningful.
