Minimal Yet Resonant
Semiha is a Turkish-Canadian artist whose work explores the depth and texture of emotional experience, what we feel, what we carry, and how it moves through us. Her practice honors emotion, and when expressed truthfully, it becomes something powerful and beautiful.
Her visual language is minimal yet resonant, defined by bold fields of color, subtle textures, and deliberate absence. Blue recurs throughout her work, evoking water, stillness, and the capacity to hold, clean, and soothe.
Her current series, Court to Court, meditates on survival and the body’s endurance, reflecting the emotional weight of long-term experience. Across all her work, Semiha seeks to make the invisible and unspoken felt, inviting viewers to find their own connection and meaning within each piece.
