The Richmond Museum’s compelling new exhibition, The Arts Live Here, celebrates how Richmond residents express their stories through the arts. Displays range from Chinese opera costumes to a flower power public piano, period portraits and fabulous fashion outfits. An Evil Queen dress from the filmed-in-Richmond TV series Once Upon A Time, as well as architectural embellishments and a signed Andy Warhol Campbell’s soup can are also a part of the exhibition. Visitors of all ages can get hands on with interactive exhibits that include using dance steps on the floor to move along with music, playing a street piano decorated with flowers by a Richmond artist, creating calligraphy on Buddha boards, contributing to colourful collaborative art challenges, and designing new street banners for neighbourhoods.
