Applications for ArtRich 2025 are open until September 7th, 2025.
EXHIBITION INFORMATION:
The Richmond Arts Coalition (RAC), with support from the Richmond Art Gallery and financial support from the City of Richmond and the BC Arts Council, is pleased to present ArtRich 2025, a juried exhibition for local artists at the Richmond Art Gallery. This exhibition will take place from Gallery from November 29th, 2025, to December 31st, 2025, with an opening reception on November 28th, 2025. ArtRich 2025 provides an opportunity for emerging and established artists from Richmond, the Lower Mainland, and nearby communities to exhibit together and celebrate local talent. Entries are not expected to fit a specific theme – we want to see the work you are most excited to share!
ENTRY INFORMATION:
The Richmond Arts Coalition (RAC) invites artists with a connection to the Lower Mainland to enter a maximum of two works per artist (regardless of medium) for adjudication. We welcome original artwork in a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, 3D works, textile/fibre arts, photography, video, and digital media. Artworks must be made between 2023 and 2025. Up to one work per artist will be selected for the exhibition.
ENTRY COST:
There is no entry fee to apply, but each artist submitting work must be a member of the Richmond Arts Coalition. Memberships can be acquired here: https://richmondartscoalition.com/membership/ . An annual membership fee is $20 per year (or $80 if you choose a five-year membership). Please note: you must be an individual member of RAC, not just a member of a group that is a RAC member. Not sure if you are a member? Reach out to rac@richmondartscoalition.com and ask!
ARTIST EXHIBITION FEES:
The Richmond Arts Coalition is currently applying for grants with the desire to offer artist exhibition fees for this community exhibition, but RAC cannot as of yet promise exhibition fees for participating artists. In 2023, RAC was able to offer a total of $10,000 in artist fees, divided between 50 participants.
AWARDS:
People’s Choice awards will be offered, with winners chosen by exhibition attendees. There will be three $100 awards for three artists with the most votes at the end of the exhibition.
TWO WAYS TO ENTER:
- To enter online, scroll down. Fill in the online form, upload up to two images, and submit. (Preferred)
- If the online form does not work for you, you may enter by email. To do so, please send an email with responses to all the online form categories to artrich@richmondartscoalition.com . Attach no more than two digital images of your artwork.
If you have problems or concerns with either method of submission, please contact artrich@richmondartscoalition.com for assistance.
ENTRY FORM DEADLINE:
Entries (including active membership status), MUST be received by September 7, 2025, 11:59pm.
CRITERIA FOR ADJUDICATION:
Jurors will make selections based on the following:
- Originality, technical execution, and creativity of work, exploration, and approach
- Balanced presentation of a range of styles, subject matter, and media
SUBMISSION OF WORK FOR ADJUDICATION:
Only online/email submissions will be accepted for adjudication. Artists are permitted to submit up to two works of art for adjudication. Only the image of your artwork should show (no digital backgrounds). Image files should be sized at large enough dimensions to be properly adjudicated (at least 1000px wide or tall), and with a file size smaller than 8 MB. Digital media works should be no longer than 10 minutes and saved as a standard video filetype. Digital media works (such as videos) can be provided via online submission form, weblink, or email attachment. Direct any questions to artrich@richmondartscoalition.com. All artists will be notified via email about whether their work has been selected by early October.
SELECTED WORKS:
Richmond Art Gallery will take the utmost care in handling the work. Artwork must be dry and ready to be displayed, with (for 2D work) a hanging device (such as a hanging sleeve, cleat, or loops/rings on the back of the work). Interactive computer-based artwork must be presented on a supplied computer. Artwork must be able to be carried easily by one person and fit through a standard door. Works exceeding four feet in width (including the frame), or of excessive weight or height, will be refused entry by Richmond Art Gallery staff at the time of delivery. Multi panel or multi component pieces (i.e. diptychs, triptychs) will be accepted; however the whole work cannot exceed the four-foot width limitation as outlined above. Richmond Art Gallery will insure all artworks while on site.
DROP OFF OF WORKS SELECTED:
Selected works must be dropped off at the Richmond Art Gallery on November 20, between 12pm – 7pm. If this is not possible, alternate arrangements will need to be made with RAC.
SALE OF WORK:
Artists will have the option to include a website link or Instagram handle next to their artwork, to allow for direct communication with potential buyers. If requested by a buyer with contact information, RAC can contact the artist to ask if they would like their own contact information shared. No commission fee is expected.
PICKUP OF WORK FOLLOWING EXHIBITION:
Work must be collected from the Richmond Art Gallery between 2 pm – 7pm on January 6, 2026. Work must be picked up on this date, unless other arrangements have been made with the RAG or RAC. Otherwise, the artist may be charged a storage fee of $5.00/day. Works not picked up within 2 weeks may be discarded. When picking up work, please bring the necessary materials to wrap and pack works – the Gallery does not supply this.
PUBLICITY:
By entering this call, permission is given to the Richmond Arts Coalition and the Richmond Art Gallery to photograph accepted works for publicity and documentary purposes, including promotion of the exhibition on their websites and social media, as well as other media outlets.
