Call for Musqueam Artists – Indoor Mural for YWCA Child Care Centre
YWCA BC is seeking a Musqueam artist or artist team to design and install a large indoor mural in the nap room of a child care facility in the new YWCA Cindy Beadie Place. The design will be inspired by the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ name for the facility, xʷp̓ip̓q̓əyasəm, which means “place of butterflies” in English. The mural should feel tranquil and calm, to support the intended use of the room, which is for young children to sleep. The selected artist(s) will receive $20,000 for the entire mural project, including materials and Installation.
