Artist Derek Liddington leads an informal talk and tour of his exhibition along with de Musée d’art de Joliette contemporary art curator, Anne-Marie St-Jean Aubre. The talk will be followed by the opening reception of the exhibition, The trees weep, the mountain still, the body rust. Derek Liddington (b. 1981) lives and works in Toronto. After obtaining a BFA from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design where he focused on video and performance, he completed an MFA at Western University in 2007. Liddington’s practice holds a continuous interest in cultural memory and its iterations through abstraction, representation and modernist forms of visual language. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
