Falling Snow presents a selection of oil paintings by Deirdre Hofer, that depict the movement of falling snowflakes. Through the artist’s use of colour, depth, and repetition, these works display an abstract, yet impressionistic quality. They evoke a vast night sky, where snowflakes float, drift, and blow about due to forces of nature. Deirdre Hofer is a Vancouver-based artist who works in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, and installation. She graduated from UBC with a degree in Fine Arts and BCIT with a certificate in Architectural Design.
