RAG Artist Salon – Mike Bourscheid
January 25 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Richmond Art Gallery is starting up the Artist Salon again for 2023, and for our first event we are going on a field trip. We have partnered with READ Books at Emily Carr University in Vancouver to host a book launch and artist talk social with our upcoming exhibiting artist, Mike Bourscheid. This event will be on Wednesday, January 25 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm (talk at 6pm, social at 7pm). Hope you can join in!
Mike is an artist who lives/works in Vancouver and Luxembourg, and has just published a book featuring his art installations from the past few years. The Richmond Art Gallery will be hosting Mike for his first solo exhibition in Canada starting on January 28, so the book launch will be a great time to meet him and hear about his practice before his exhibit opens. His work combines sculpture, installation, performance and video, often with a sense of humour. He has exhibited throughout Europe and Canada, as well as making work at various artist residencies.
This session will be both in person for those of you wanting to meet up in person with other artists, as well as online for those of you who prefer to visit us from the comfort of home. We will be hosting a reception right after his talk, which will be a great time to chat and mingle with other artists as well as our Director Shaun Dacey, and the staff at ECUAD’s Read Books and other ECUAD staff and students. And I will be there too, eager to hear your feedback of the Artist Salon and what you might like to see coming up in 2023 for the program.

In person will be at 520 East 1st Avenue, Vancouver. Online will be via the Zoom platform.
