Q&A with allie mcdonald

Questions to RAC social media coordinator, allie mcdonald

Who are you?
I’m allie mcdonald! I’m the social media coordinator here at Richmond Arts Coalition.

What is your art?
I’m an Indie Chamber Folk musician, which is something like if classical/pop music met folk music! I write, produce, and record all my own music, and have my Bachelors in Music from the University of Alberta!

Why is art important to you?
Music has been my entire life since I was a child, and I see music as such an impactful form of catharsis, entertainment, and healing. Oh, and it’s great for dancing of course 😉

How did you become involved with RAC?
I believe I answered a craigslist ad all the way back in 2013, and my position at RAC has been evolving ever since. I’m a big proponent in volunteering for your community since seeing how much volunteers helped my musical education when growing up.

What about your future art excites you?
I’m getting ready to release my newest album in March of 2023. It’s been the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on, and I just can’t wait to release it!
