Arts Administrator, RAC Founding Member
Suzanne is currently the Executive Director for the Aurora Cultural Centre, a multipurpose arts organization in Aurora, Ontario. The organization is the resident programmer for Aurora Town Square, a new $52 million arts venue owned by the municipality opening in September 2024. Suzanne was the Executive Director of the Burlington Performing Arts Centre, and the General Manager of the Gateway Theatre in Richmond, BC from 2003 -2015. She has an honours degree in business administration with a major in theatre from Wilfrid Laurier University. Suzanne was awarded the 2010 Ethel Tibbits Arts award for women of distinction and a Celebrating Women community award, Arts category in 2008. Suzanne is co-founder and past chair of the Richmond Arts Coalition. As an active member of the community, Suzanne sat on the ActSafe Performing Arts committee from 2005-2009, the Business and the Arts committee of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the Tourism Richmond marketing committees from 2008-2010, and was a member of the Rotary Club of Richmond. Suzanne was on the steering committee for the 2006 study – ADDING IT UP: The Status of Women in Canadian Theatre and was active in governance with Professional Association for Canadian Theatres (PACT) and Ontario Presents, national and provincial arts service organizations respectively. Suzanne was the PACT lead on the 2016 ‘Not in our Space’ anti harassment/bullying anti sexual harassment project that changed how artists report on and professional theatres respond to issues in the creation of theatre in Canada. Suzanne is trained as a Certified Human Resource Professional/Leader (CHRP/CHRL) and lives in Burlington Ontario with her husband and two kids.
