Norine Braun is a Vancouver singer-songwriter recording artist renowned for her soulful vocals and introspective songwriting in multiple genres. With 14 albums to her name, Braun’s music explores themes of the environment, identity, heritage, and the universal journey of life. Norine is Metis and Two Spirit, her last album Songs For Trees, is dedicated to the forests and the spirits within the trees thanks to a Canada Council For the Arts and a First Peoples’ Cultural Council Award. The Vancouver Sun named Songs For Trees as “one of 5 albums you need to hear!” The album charted on the Top 10 in SiriusXM Indigenous Music Countdown and on Canadian Campus Radio. Norine released Journey Toward Wholeness on May 24, 2024 thanks to another First Peoples’ Cultural Council Award. The new album explores her journey as an adoptee and her recent connection with her birth father and Metis lineage and heritage. The concept album has groove based vibes along with some bluesy and rootsy twists.
