Performed for a live audience in Studio B. Created by Richmond-based artist Keely Rois O’Brien, Secret Ingredients is a playful experimental theatre performance that uses cake to explore the quirks, nuances, joy, and heartache of human relationships. Leading up to the performance, the public is invited to consider messages that they find too difficult to express directly to someone in their life, and submit them via an online form. One of these submissions will be translated into a beautiful, subversive cake that will be delivered and incorporated into the performance. Flavours are intricately paired with the message: the dark chocolate of embarrassment, the citrus zest of annoyance, the tart cherry jam of grief. With each cake delivery, a new story, a new emotion, and a new flavour emerge.
